We are excited to be continuing to move towards bargaining with Rockefeller. Since winning our election by an overwhelming 69%, our union was certified by the National Labor Relations Board, we have elected our Bargaining Committee, and we’ve begun circulating a bargaining survey to help shape our bargaining priorities democratically.
As of today, over 80% of Rockefeller postdocs have filled out a bargaining survey. Through this process, we’ve already had hundreds of conversations with our colleagues about areas we could fight for improvements, including workplace rights, pay, benefits, housing, childcare, and much more.
In order to make the bargaining survey accessible to those who are not on campus, we have created an online version. If you haven’t already completed a bargaining survey, please click here and take a few minutes to complete the survey today. Your input will help ensure that our elected Bargaining Committee has the information it needs to take into account the diverse needs of our postdoc community.
We will also be hosting a bargaining town hall on Thursday, December 5 at 12pm in Carson Auditorium. In this town hall, we will introduce our elected bargaining committee, discuss next steps for bargaining, and answer questions. Please RSVP here for the town hall!
On the same day as the town hall, we will be holding our first ever UPROR-UAW happy hour. Come to Faculty Club on Thursday, December 5 from 5pm onwards to discuss union issues and postdoc life or to simply enjoy the company of fellow union members!
