RSVP for our Next Steps Town Hall on October 11th!
Last week we voted by an overwhelming 69% in favor of UPROR-UAW to represent Rockefeller postdocs, and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has just certified our union! This means the Rockfeller administration is now legally obligated to bargain with us as equals.
Our next steps to prepare for negotiations include electing a bargaining committee made up of postdocs, deciding our bargaining priorities democratically through surveys and focus groups, voting to approve a set of initial bargaining goals, and notifying the Rockefeller administration of our intent to bargain with them. Strong participation by postdocs in these upcoming phases of our campaign will be crucial to getting to the bargaining table in a timely manner.
We will be holding a town hall on Friday, October 11th at 12pm in Carson to discuss all of this as we move towards bargaining. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our next steps, hear answers to any questions you may have, and get involved with our campaign for a strong first contract at Rockefeller.
