Yesterday, we delivered our signed cards to the National Labor Relations Board
With 80% of postdocs having signed authorization cards, we are excited to announce that yesterday we filed our petition with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to have an official vote to form United Postdoctoral Researchers of Rockefeller-UAW as our Union!
This election will allow all of us to vote to form our union. Once a majority votes “yes,” we will elect a bargaining committee of postdocs, decide on our shared priorities democratically, and start negotiations with the Rockefeller administration.
As you may recall, last Monday, August 5, we delivered an Open Letter, signed by postdocs from across campus, calling on Rockefeller to remain neutral and discuss a fair and efficient process for moving towards bargaining. We hope that the Rockefeller administration responds to our request to meet so that we can discuss a fair and efficient election process, and does not attempt to delay the process with legal challenges. We will keep you all updated as we move forward.
